TIMEFRAME
For how much time will your clock be in the shop?
It depends on the type of clock, the severity of its problems, its age/obsolescence, parts availability, and the number of other repairs that are in queue at the time.
As a general guideline, simple battery clocks typically are ready within 1 to 2 weeks. Complex ones, generally 4 to 6 weeks. Modern mechanical clocks which are having complete replacement of their internal components, typically require 4 to 6 weeks in the shop. Simple cuckoo clocks require generally 4 to 8 weeks. Complex cuckoo clocks are typically 4 months to a year.
Antique/obsolete clocks require the most time. An antique/obsolete clock can typically be in the shop for as few as 6 months, to as much as a year or more…depending on the complexity of the clock, the severity of its problems (and the specific type of attention it needs), and the queue of antique/obsolete work that’s previously been scheduled ahead of it.
