PRICING
There is no mention of repair pricing on my website. And there is no “fast food menu” of repair services and pricing, posted.
I consider repair pricing to be confidential information between me, and my customers (and potential customers). I therefore do not publish prices online.
ESTIMATES
I can provide a general range of potential repair costs if you bring your clock to my shop, or describe it to me over the telephone, or send me photographs of it. Actual price quotes will be given once the clock is examined in the shop, a test run attempted, and a diagnosis of the problems, made.
Please note that a clock’s original selling price, or its present “value”, are not factors in determining repair pricing.
When giving me a description or contacting me with photos, please describe the symptoms (what is the clock doing, or “not doing”) that cause you to believe that the clock needs repair.
If not sending photos, but only giving me a description….please tell me the clock’s brand name or maker, its type (cuckoo, grandfather, etc.), its approximate age, its shape and approximate dimensions (“it’s round and about 18 inches across”; “it’s rectangular, and about 36 inches tall and 12 inches across”; “it’s made of stone and VERY heavy”, etc.), how many winding holes it has, how many weights it has, what kind of gongs or chimes the clock plays (if any), whether or not it has a pendulum, whether it’s battery powered or electric, and the like.
Your clock’s prior repair history, if you know it, can also be helpful to me: “Someone repaired it for my parents in the 1980s”, or “ABC Clock Repair did something to it, in the 1990s”, etc.
Your clock’s trauma history (if any, and if known) is very helpful: “Our grandson pulled the chains too hard, and the whole clock fell off the wall. It never worked after that…”, etc.
I will not commence any repair work without your approval of the work to be done, and the pricing for it, agreed-upon.
Thank you for finding JFK Clock Repair. Please write or call if you have any questions.
